Pensioner gets shock of his life while playing bingo:
Playing bingo was the passion for this 67 year old pensioner. He is located in Blackwell and has been playing bingo the Mecca Club of Talbot Road since the past three years. He had started playing bingo out of boredom, and is today happy he had actually started playing the game.
This is because on Tuesday, February 5th 2008, he had received the shock of his life when he had won more than 20,000 pounds as prize money while playing bingo. He had won his min fortune at his club and prefers to remain anonymous.
Of the prize money, he has already claimed half the National Bingo Game prize of 19, 145 pounds, along with the regional prize amounting to 1,005 pounds and the house prize of 336 pounds.
He had only claimed half the National Prize money of 38,830 pounds he had to share the prize with another player in Scotland who had claimed a full house with 46 numbers. The duty manager of the Mecca club, Victoria Slater states that the whole club had cheered and clapped for him when he had won the prize. Even though everyone had congratulated him, he was so shocked that all he could and had said was ‘Thank you’.
