A regular bingo player of Methyr Tydfil, Glamorgan Christine Bradfield had struck rich on January 27. She has become a bingo millionaire at the age of 53 by winning the bingo jackpot, after playing bingo in this hall for the past 11 years.
Though she had won a large amount of money with the jackpot, she has still returned to her old job as a part time petrol station cashier. This is a job she has been doing for a long time, where she earns 5.50 pounds an hour.
Although she need not work at all with the money she had won through the jackpot, she has returned to her job out of fear of getting bored just spending her prize money. She feels that by returning to work, things seem to have returned to normal for her.
On winning her jackpot, Christine has been continuously attending the phone. However she enjoys returning to her job, to normal life and to meeting people. She prefers doing all this than just spending her day shopping.
Despite winning a fortune, Christine does not wish to make any changes in her lifestyle. In fact, she and her husband Ray of age 54 have no idea of leaving their terraced home of Bargoed, Caerphilly.
Her colleagues at work in Texaco garage of Blackwood were surprised at her returning to work after winning the fortune. Even her colleague Jean Lloyed states that he would never return to work at a petrol station if he had won so much money. However if Christine is happy, he has no problems with her coming to work.

Various gaming companies have taken up legal action against the latest German ban that has been made on online gambling. The European Commission is in full support of this legal action and with this support, they have issued warnings to both the Swedish and German governments. This warning is basically against the monopolistic policies these two countries have adopted.
With the ban that both the German and Swedish governments have to face, online bingo operators have been greatly affected. In fact, even the online bingo halls that are run by foreign companies today have been greatly affected by this ban.
While the free online bingo market found in Sweden is making a great progress in the world of bingo, bingo online in Germany is still in its fledging or growing phase.
Today, not only Germany and Sweden are facing litigation by the EC over the gaming laws. There are many more countries suffering from the same plight. However, in the private sector, both the European Gaming and Betting Association which are representing Bwin, PartyGaming and others are filing their own litigation for this matter.

The dining room of the Bonner Senior Center was filled with early bird players for the monthly bingo fund raiser on Super Bowl Sunday. The crowd of 53 people was actually expected by the chairman of the center’s ways and means committee of regular games sessions.
Even Patti Coffey, who serves the free lunches of the kitchen, was surprised at the turnout of Bonner members. The doors to the hall were opened at 12.15 pm, before the start of regular play.
However players had already started hunching over their 24 card bingo sheets while listening intently to all the numbers called by the volunteer, Chuck Babcock. On hearing the shout ‘Bingo!’ from Renee Olson, he asked if that was a winner.
Accompanying Renee was her friend, Dorothy Jones of Hobart who visits the club every month to play the game. She had managed to win $34 as prize for forming ‘X’ in one of the special, warming up games. Another member in her group was the daughter of Nancy Cordova and Carol Lambert.
Dashbach announced that the prizes for the game were dependant on the number of people present. Presently, the winner of the regular game wins $30 and special game winners win $55.
The basic bingo kit costs $15, while one has to pay $1 to participate in the ‘hot ball’ games. Other games that rewarded winners half of the game’s take had nominal extra charges.
The money that is generated in these bingo games and other fund raising activities help in paying for things needed by the center. This includes tiles for the foyer to a bus having a wheelchair lift that takes it members to the center, shopping centers, field trips and doctor’s offices. The next game of bingo is scheduled for the first Sunday of the coming month, March 2.
