OAP receives 9,000 pounds from Coventry Bingo club after its winning row:

Filed under: Bingo News — 19 Feb 2008

A pensioner was unlucky that his winning call was not acknowledged in a game of bingo. However as a form of compensation, the bingo club she had played in had agreed to pay 9,000 pounds to her.

The 70 year old pensioner, Uda Banks would receive cash from Gala Bingo once they look at the audio footage of the winning bingo game that was played in Pool Meadow of Coventry city center, three weeks ago.

This mother of seven and grandmother of six was devastated when the caller of the game of bingo has not stopped the game with her call. This would have deprived her of a big win in bingo games, during her 40 years as a member in the club.

It was her daughter, Patricia Clarke who had first received the good news from Gala Bingo about their agreeing to pay her mother her win. However she had not been able to inform her mother as she was attending her nephew’s funeral in Jamaica.

She said that she had received a call from Gala over the weekend where they informed her that they would indeed honor her mother’s bingo win.

Gmed’s latest bid leads to jump in Boss share value:

Filed under: Bingo News — 18 Feb 2008

Those who have invested in shares of Swedish online gambling company are now delighted with the 25% hike in the value of Boss Media stocks. This hike in stock prices is due to the latest bid of GTech, a subsidiary of GEMEd on the Boss Media stocks. With this bid, the value of Boss Media Company has increased to about Euro 105.6 million.

Boss Media was one of the best performers in the latest International Casino Exhibition that was organized in London. With their excellent performance, they have proven their potential and intent of expanding all their online bingo operations. They are now targeting their expansion into the booming online bingo games market of Scandinavia.

In addition to this, this latest deal for Boss is added proof for another trend that seems to be existing in the online bingo industry today. This trend is the increasing number of bids that are being made today for acquiring online gaming companies. This trend was most prevalent in the first quarter of the academic year, 2008.

With regards to the GEMed offer, Boss is trying to take advice on deciding whether to recommend their shareholders to accept the offer given by GEMed or not.

$136,000 missing from Bingo Palace; cashier suspected of theft:

Filed under: Bingo News — 17 Feb 2008

According to the reports given by Grand Forks police, the cashier from Bingo Palace has been accused of stealing $136,000 from the North Dakota Association for the Disabled site. This money was not sold at one shot; instead it was sold from the association for the past three years.

Mike Flannery has declared that the cashier, Heath Volk of age 33 from Grand Forks had turned himself into authorities this morning.

The theft of the money was realized by the officials at Bingo Palace when they found out that they had problems with missing money. This is when they started auditing to find out where the money had gone.

It was in December that the police department had gotten involved in the matter while the audit was completed in January. With this investigation, it was found out that about $136,000 was stolen from the organization over three years.

The only suspect for the charge was Volk. With him being caught, he faces a Class B felony theft charge. However according to Flannery, as the winners of the gaming site were paid correctly and on time, without any complaints, this monetary loss had no effects on the winnings of the game.
