Screaming bingo for free sex toys

Filed under: Bingo News — 25 Feb 2008

In a bid to collect money for the global V movement for ending violence against women, a week long of events was organized on Feb. 11, 12 and 13. One of these events was a game of bingo where instead of the usual money and prizes, sex toys were awarded to the winners.

The name of the game was ‘Sex Toy Bingo’ was organized by Jessica Laigle while Janice Formichella, a Passion Parties representative had hosted the event. The event drew 22 students, far more than the number of participants the hosts had anticipated. Attendees were all educated about adult toy storage and the hazards of sugary body powder to ensure efficient functioning of the game.

The game was designed to be a colorful event for a worthy cause and was a hit with attendees while the prize display garnered lots of praise. There was only one prize for men, the ‘gigi’, which is the masturbation sleeve.

With only one prize listed, the female attendees were surprised to find six men taking part in the event, where three had won prizes.

The final two prizes that consisted of a Magic Bullet and Flashlight, and a Jelly Osaki vibrator were won by CAS sophomore Ryan Stechler and an unnamed female student.

Though many girls were unlucky at the game, at the end of the game, they learnt a lot about the Passion Parties inventory.

Bingo rakes in big money in Arkansas:

Filed under: Bingo News — 24 Feb 2008

It has been six months since Arkansas has permitted the return of charitable bingo. In Moose Lodge itself, the club pays out $7,500 per night while players spend about $50 for participating in games on Tuesday and Thursday nights.

The players say that playing bingo gives them an addictive excitement in their otherwise monotonous lives. It gets you so excited that your heart pumps in winning games that pay $50, $200 or even $1,000.

There are about 250 licensed organizations in Arkansas, with minimal complaints. The state of Arkansas receives a penny for each card played in a game of bingo, thus raking the revenue of the state.

This move of paying a cent fee for each card brings in slightly more in income to the government than before. It was expected to collect 6 to 700 thousand dollars, however in the first six months, Arkansas collected about $550,000 as tax and used for enforcing charitable bingo laws and regulations.

Not only does the state donate to charity, they also give it back to the community through the Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, etc.

Most of the licensed games of the state are conducted at churches and schools where they feel that the fee is too high and should be cut into half.

In reply to this, the Revenue Commissioner Theis says that this matter about the tax and level of tax will be discussed in the general assembly when they come into session in 2009 to find out if an adjustment is required.

These are all minor problems, and to many lucky people in the state, bingo has been more profitable than charitable.

Costa Rica demands compensation from US:

Filed under: Bingo News — 23 Feb 2008

With the US withdrawing its commitments with the World Trade Organization about online gambling matters, the Central American nation of Costa Rica has now joined Antigua in getting a compensation claim.

Online gambling is an important contributor to the economy of the country through online bingo games companies, online bingo halls and online gaming operators.

With the new claim, it is expected that the agreement that was reached between EU and the US would get derailed.

This agreement was about the arbitration filing which made it possible for EU to think of reconsidering the present settlement.

Many European online gaming and online bingo companies have criticized this EU deal and think that this move by Costa Rica is a means of refocusing attention on the policy US has over anti-online gaming policies.

With Antigua and Costa Rica taking US to arbitration, the limits of the WTO process is tested while challenging the resolve of US in withdrawing its GATs commitments. This was stated by Nao Matsukata, the present Senior Advisor for Alston and Bird LLP.

However if the US finds the WTO arbitrator’s decision unacceptable, the General Agreement on Trade and Services states that US could withdraw to create a crisis of confidence in the global trading system.

So the best option is for US congress to pass a rule that creates a legal and regulated ideology for online gaming in US, and for the US to remain in the GATs schedule while providing providers legal protection in WTO.
