The first thing one does on winning a jackpot of 45,000 pounds in a national game is to treat all the money to oneself. However there are some people who are not so selfish, like the 59 year old Sheffield woman who had won the jackpot.

Instead of spending the money on herself, she has plans of treating her mother on a cruise planned as one of the ways of spending her winnings. She told National Bingo that she was shocked when she was informed of the win.

And when she found out how much she had won, it took a long time for the fact to sink in. She hopes to avoid this sinking feeling for a little longer with the cruise yet to come around the corner.

She had managed to win the jackpot in 42 calls at the Gala Bingo club located in Halifax Road. This is not the first time that a claim for a jackpot was made in a Sheffield venue.

The past few years have seen numerous UK bingo jackpot winners in the city’s Gala bingo and Mecca Bingo halls. In fact, these halls have recorded more than 986,000 pounds in winnings to players in the city’s bingo halls from July 2004 to October 2006.

A lucky teenager from Leeds was the lucky recipient of the jackpot prize of 90,000 in the Mecca Club in Balm Road. This teenager is only 19 years old, and prefers to remain anonymous, and had won this money on a Saturday night of bingo.

She does not have plans to squander all the money on herself; she intends to share her winnings with her uncle and dad, who were also playing bingo at that time. She had won the National Bingo Game Prize of 90,000 pounds on completing a full house in only 31 numbers. This bingo prize consists of the lowest number of numbers that has been called in any of the 470 clubs that are played nationally.

The woman is a regular player of bingo since May, where she goes to play bingo with her dad, once a week. This is her first big win; she has managed to win some small prizes before. Upon hearing about the win, she was absolutely shocked. In fact, she just felt like crying.
